Person centred training courses can be tailored to the needs of individual service users and their staff teams within learning disability services and supported living services throughout Devon and Cornwall.
Each course is based on the principles of total communication, valuing each individual’s personality, promoting independence and encouraging appropriate skill development as well as developing staff confidence and improving communication within the team. Training can also be tailored to the needs of family members and carers within a non-service environment.
Courses range from a half day package through to a four-day in depth, client specific training.
I provide advice and assistance for service managers, carers and family members to overcome challenges and develop their own skills and abilities in support planning and guidelines, behavioural interventions (non-PI), communication training and staff performance.
I also provide a weekly or monthly team debrief service to provide staff with a confidential non-judgemental space to work through difficulties and conflicts, uncover their own skills and needs within the team, promote positive, effective communications and clarify team objectives and goals.
Training courses start at £400 for a half-day bespoke package.
Consultancy work is charged at £40 per hour, with a number of concessionary appointments available.
